Osun and Abia natives are named permanent secretaries by Soludo.
Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has approved the appointments of eighteen new permanent secretaries to several state ministries.
Joachin Achor from Abia State and Adebayo Ojeyinka, an Osun State native, were among those appointed.

Osun and Abia natives are named permanent secretaries by Soludo.
Christian Aburime, the governor’s press secretary, revealed this information in a news release on Friday and added that the appointments were made on the basis of merit.
Aburime said that a “rigorous and transparent” procedure, comprising a computerized test, a search procedure, and one-on-one meetings with the governor, was followed in making the appointments.
“This tailored engagement facilitated a more profound comprehension of the candidates’ goals, outlook, and congruence with the government’s agenda, guaranteeing a comprehensive assessment,” the statement stated.
It is important to remember that in the past, Mr. Governor alone had the authority to choose permanent secretaries. But this time, a conscious move was made in the direction of an open search procedure.
“The goal of this adjustment was to maintain the values of equity, chance, and selecting the best applicants.
A few of exceptionally talented, younger civil officers were appointed because of their extraordinary qualities.
“Soludo’s revolutionary action demonstrates his dedication to dismantling obstacles and advancing inclusivity in Anambra State.
“Instead of restricting opportunities to individuals who are native to Anambra, the appointments of non-indigenes and people from other states show a willingness to tap into talent from all corners of the country.”
It went on to say that Ojeyinka’s appointment from Osun State is especially significant because it deviates from the custom of exclusively appointing native-born people to high civil service positions.
It also stated, “This action sends a strong message that Anambra is open to everyone, irrespective of their state of origin.”
The remaining sixteen appointees, according to the list, are all from Anambra State.
